How To Show or Hide the Formula Bar in Excel

Microsoft Excel allows you to control the display of the program in various ways, including complete personalization of the top ribbon. However, if you're finding the large top ribbon to be troublesome, here's an easy way to create some more space on your computer screen. 

Display or Hide the Formula Bar in Excel

Open your spreadsheet and click on the File menu. 

Next, click on Excel Options and move to the Advanced tab. Scroll to the Display section. 

Uncheck the check box labelled Show Formula Bar and click on OK:


N.B. This manipulation can also be performed via the View menu.
